Award-winning Gallery & Concept Store

The UAE’s leading platform dedicated to emerging designers from around the world.

About The Cartel

In 2013, I founded The Cartel as an innovative platform to support and showcase emerging and contemporary brands from around the world. Starting with a gallery space in Alserkal Avenue, The Cartel expanded into a multifaceted concept, encompassing a gallery, publishing house, and later a showroom in Dubai Design District (d3), solidifying its presence as a creative hub in the region. The platform championed cutting-edge international brands like MM6 Maison Margiela, Dion Lee, and Iris Van Herpen, alongside regional talents such as Binthani, Reemami, and Rula Ghalayini. Over the years, The Cartel collaborated with more than 150 creatives and brands across fashion, jewelry, product, and furniture design. Recognized by Financial Times: How to Spend It as one of the top fashion boutiques in the world, the gallery became a beacon for contemporary design until its closure in 2021.

As one of the region's pioneers, The Cartel was the second platform to establish an ongoing partnership with FARFETCH, elevating regional brands to a global audience. Beyond retail, it launched an annual publication (2014–2017) in collaboration with contemporary art fairs including Art Dubai and Design Days, and hosted a dynamic program of innovative exhibitions, design showcases, talk series, university visits, and internships. These initiatives fostered community engagement and raised awareness of key trends in contemporary design, including sustainability, technology, and artisanal craft. Additionally, The Cartel partnered with major regional department stores like Galeries Lafayette, Tryano, and Harvey Nichols Kuwait, while supporting creatives through mentorship, collaborations, and seasonal showcases that nurtured innovation and creativity across the design landscape.
